Jaxaay-Parcelles-Niakoul Rap is a city in the Rufisque department of the Dakar metropolitan area , in the central west of Senegal . After the department prefecture Rufisque and Bargny , it is the third largest city with over 40,000 inhabitants.
Geographical location
Jaxaay-Parcelles-Niakoul Rap is located in the interior of the Cap-Vert Peninsula . From the city center it is about six kilometers to the Grande-Côte in the north-west and the Petite-Côte in the south-west. The city lies on the northern border of the department prefecture Rufisque and on the eastern border of Keur Massar , one of the communes d'arrondissement of the metropolis Pikine . The capital of Senegal, Dakar, is about 20 kilometers away. Sangalkam is six kilometers east of here.

Jaxaay-Parcelles-Niakoul Rap was created after the communauté rurale Sangalkam was divided up in 2011 as an urban community and defined within its boundaries. Jaxaay was determined as the main town.

Jaxaay-Parcelles-Niakoul Rap is a bit off the traffic axes of the Cap-Vert peninsula, which have to accommodate the west-east traffic between the metropolis of Dakar and the rest of the country. This flows on the national road N 1 , on the toll route 1 and on the Dakar – Niger railway line through the area of the neighboring city of Rufisque .
