Jean-Marc Pelletier (* 4. March 1978 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who between 2007 and 2010, the Hamburg Freezers stood between the posts.
Career
Pelletier was selected 30th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft . At this time he played for Cornell University in the game operation of the college sports organization NCAA , the following season he guarded the goal of the Rimouski Oceanic from the Québec Major Junior Hockey League . For the season 1998/99 Pelletier was brought by the Flyers to their farm team , the Philadelphia Phantoms , in the American Hockey League , in addition, he was able to make his NHL debut for on March 4, 1999 in a 5-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators the flyers celebrate.
In January 2000, the goalkeeper was transferred from the Flyers along with Rod Brind'Amour and a second-round pick to the Carolina Hurricanes , who in turn gave Keith Primeau and a five-round pick to the Flyers. However, Pelletier was never used by the Hurricanes in the NHL, but played in their farm team, the Cincinnati Cyclones in the International Hockey League or with the Lowell Lock Monsters in the AHL.
On December 31, 2002, the Hurricanes exchanged Pelletier for Patrick DesRochers , who came from the Phoenix Coyotes for it. But here, too, the left catcher was only used sporadically in the NHL and was only able to celebrate his first NHL victory on February 20, 2004, when the Coyotes defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2. In total, Pelletier was used in six NHL games for Phoenix.
In February 2005, the goalkeeper then moved to the Utah Grizzlies , who sent Jamie Storr to the Falcons for it. However, Pelletier's contract ran out in the summer, so that he signed a contract with the Florida Panthers as a free agent in the summer of 2005 and was used as a goalkeeper in their farm team, the Rochester Americans .
Due to the long-term absence of Robert Müller , the Adler Mannheim signed the US American in December 2006. With the Adler Mannheim he won the German Ice Hockey Cup and the German Championship in his first DEL season . From the 2007/08 season , Pelletier was in the gate of the Hamburg Freezers , where he had signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year.
