Jeff Cascaro

Jeff Cascaro (* 1968 in Bochum ) is a German jazz and soul singer and trumpeter . You could assign it to the style of soul jazz .

Live and act

Cascaro won the national youth jazz competition at the age of 18 and has been a professional musician ever since. He has taken master classes with Jay Clayton , Rachel Gould , Marjorie Barnes and Walter Norris . He has appeared with most of the German radio big bands (including the NDR Big Band and RIAS Big Band ) and groups such as the Fantastischen Vier , the Guano Apes , H-Blockx , the New Rock Conference and Klaus Doldingers Passport . He also worked a. a. with Till Brönner , Ute Lemper , Sasha , Joe Sample , Howard Johnson , Georgie Fame , Herb Geller , Bobby Shew , Horst Jankowski and Götz Alsmann .

Since 2000 he has been teaching jazz singing at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar . At the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar he worked as a voice coach (for Thomas Godoj, among others ). After albums with the trio of Martin Sasse ( Let's Fall In Love! ) And the hr big band ( The American Songs of Kurt Weill with Silvia Droste ), his first solo album Soul of a Singer was released in 2006 (with Christian von Kaphengst as producer and Bassist, Ulf Kleiner , piano, Bruno Müller, guitar, Peter Lübke and Roland Peil , drums, and Michael Heupel , flute). The album Mother and Brother followed in 2008 . The last album Love & Blues In The City was released on Herzog Records in 2017 . The quintet consisted of Cascaro Christian von Kaphengst, Roberto Di Gioia, Hendrik Soll, Jörg Achim Keller and Flo Dauner, with the last two sharing the drummer parts.
