Jelena Alexandrowna Soboljowa ( Russian Елена Александровна Соболева ; born January 8, 1992 ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Soboljowa has been taking part in the Eastern Europe Cup since 2008 . She has had eight wins so far and won the overall standings in the 2011/12 , 2012/13 and 2015/16 season (as of the end of the season: 2015/16). In the 2014/15 season she finished second in the overall ranking. She ran her first World Cup race in January 2011 in Otepää , which she finished in 28th place in the sprint and thus got her first World Cup points. At the following Junior World Ski Championships , she won silver with the relay. At the beginning of February 2011 in Rybinsk she reached 12th place in the sprint, her best position so far in an individual World Cup race. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , she finished 39th in the sprint. In February 2012 she won silver over 5 km classic and gold with the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Erzurum . At the U23 World Championships in Liberec in 2013 , she won gold in the sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , she came 41st in the skiathlon. In the 2016/17 season she came in 31st place in the World Cup Mini Tour in Lillehammer and in 22nd place in the 2016/17 Tour de Ski and thus reached 46th place in the overall World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , she finished 28th in the sprint and 20th in the 30 km mass start race.

In the 2018/19 season, Soboljowa finished 39th in the Lillehammer Triple and 24th in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 . In addition, she was in Beitostølen second with the relay and reached the end of the season, 58th place in the overall World Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , she finished 34th in the sprint and 27th in the 30 km mass start race.
