In the music segment, the Coros de Madrigalistas is mentioned. Presbyter Manuel Gómez and Doctor Antonio Brambila acted as ecclesiastical advisers to the Archbishop.

The film was shot in Mexico . Jesús de Nazareth is the first Mexican film to deal with the life and suffering and death of Jesus. After the turbulent years of civil war in Mexico between the government and peasant militias that were close to the Catholic Church, the then President Manuel Ávila Camacho had proposed the topic. The exiled Spaniard José Díaz Morales was commissioned to make a corresponding film in which mainly Spanish actors were to be used, as these usually promised a success at the box office.
