Jes Høgh (born May 7, 1966 in Aalborg , Denmark ) is a former Danish football player.

Life

Høgh played in the youth of Aalborg Chang before moving to Aalborg BK in the Danish first division in 1987 . Here he quickly developed into a regular player in the team's central defense. He made Brøndby IF's attention through strong performances , and so he switched to the master in 1991. Here he formed a strong duo with Marc Rieper . Høgh was named Brondby's Player of the Year in 1993. After many injuries, he lost his regular seat and returned to Aalborg in 1994.

Here he was able to find his old form again and the team became champions of the SAS league in 1995 . He moved to Fenerbahçe Istanbul in Turkey in the summer ; here too he became a champion in the first year. In July 1999 he went to England for Chelsea , but was only a substitute for Marcel Desailly and Frank Leboeuf . In April 2000, Høgh suffered a protracted ankle injury, whereupon he retired in March 2001 at the age of 34.

National team

He made his debut for Denmark in 1991, but his breakthrough came later when he formed the defense with Marc Rieper. Høgh took part in the European Championships in 1996 , 2000 and the World Cup in 1998 . His only international success is winning the King Fahd Cup in 1995. He played 57 games and scored one goal.
