Ji So-yun (born February 21, 1991 ) is a South Korean national soccer player . She was named Asia's Soccer Player of the Year in 2013. With currently 58 goals, she is the record scorer in South Korea .
Career
society
Ji's career as a professional soccer player began with the Japanese first division club INAC Kobe Leonessa , with whom she won the double of the Japanese championship and the Empress Cup three times in a row from 2011 to 2013 . For the 2014 season she moved to the English first division club Chelsea LFC , with whom she missed the FA WSL championship in her first season only because of the worse goal difference compared to the Liverpool LFC . But this succeeded in 2015, 2017 and 2017/18. She also won the trophy with the Blues in the 2014/15 and 2017/18 seasons. She competed with Chelsea in the 2015/16 , 2016/17 , 2017/18 and 2018/19 UEFA Women's Champions League . She scored five goals in 20 CL games. The best result was reaching the semi-finals in the last two events.
National team
Ji made his debut at the age of fifteen on October 30, 2006 in an international match against Canada in the South Korean national team. Subsequently, however, she also played for the youth national teams of the South Korean Football Association and took part in the U-17 Women's World Cup in 2008 and the U-20 Women's World Cup in 2010 , where she was the second best player with the silver ball was awarded. At the 2014 Asian Women's Football Championship , Ji finished fourth with South Korea. At the FIFA World Cup in 2015 , they also took part and completed all the group games in South Korea. She scored her first World Cup goal against Costa Rica .
On April 8, 2018, she played her 100th international match against Australia . On February 28, 2019, she scored her 50th international goal against Argentina .
