Jo van Nelsen (born August 28, 1968 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ; actually Jochen Bickert ) is a German actor , chanson singer and director .

Life

After graduating from the Kaiserin-Friedrich-Gymnasium in Bad Homburg, van Nelsen began an apprenticeship as a bookseller in 1988. From 1989 to 1990 he worked as a dramaturgy and assistant director for Rainer Mennicken at the Schauspiel Frankfurt . Since 1989 he has worked as a chanson singer, actor, speaker and presenter / conferencier in Germany and other German-speaking countries; since 1997 he has also worked as a radio presenter and radio / print writer.

From 1998 to 2000 he completed his training as a classical baritone with Wolfgang Grimm in Frankfurt am Main and at the same time continued to develop his speaking technique with functional voice training .

Since 2001 Jo van Nelsen has mainly worked as a director. In 1998 he received the St. Ingberter Pfanne and the Wilhelmshavener Knurrhahn and in 2001 the Thuringian Cabaret Award for “Kitsch!” In 2007 he received the audience award for directing “Mythos Marlene” in the comedy in Marquardt, Stuttgart, and the jury award in the competition “ Braunschweig's most beautiful love song ”as part of the European Minnesang Festival.
