Joachim Wolff (sculptor)
Joachim Wolff (born August 13, 1923 Oberheldrungen ; † November 4, 2009 ) was a German steel sculptor.
Life
Joachim Wolff studied from 1941 to 1943 and from 1946 to 1949 at the Werkkunstschule Hannover . From 1943 to the summer of 1945 he did military service, was wounded and was taken prisoner. From 1950 to 1963 he worked as a commercial artist.
In 1963 Wolff switched to the fine arts as an autodidact and has since worked as a steel sculptor. In 1969 he became a member of the German Association of Artists . In 1971 he received a scholarship from the Kulturkreis in the Federal Association of Industry . In the same year he was a participant in the Symposion Urbanum in Nuremberg.
In 1979 Wolff lived and worked in his studio at Rosenstrasse 79 in Lehrte . He was married to the sculptor Gabriele Marwede .
Works
From 1967 Joachim Wolff received several public contracts:
- In 1967 he created the stainless steel relief for the Hildesheim District Court ,
- 1969 a stainless steel sculpture in front of the library in Hanover-Herrenhausen
- and in 1971 the stainless steel fountain for the headquarters of the BHW in Hameln was built .
- In 1974 Wolff created the Lüders-Brunnen - water garden in Hanover , donated by the Lüders Foundation and installed in the Lister Meile ,
- 1977 a steel fountain on Raschplatz in Hanover
- and an order for the Symposium Urbanum in Nuremberg 71 .
