Joachim Zollikofer

Joachim Zollikofer (born March 19, 1547 in St. Gallen ; † September 21, 1631 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Joachim Zollikofer was born the son of Laurenz Zollikofer (1519–1577), a businessman, and his wife Dorothea Theodosia (1523–1603), daughter of Joachim Vadian . His brothers were:

Joachim Zollikofer was a nephew of Leonhart Zollikofer (1529–1587), a businessman and diplomat .

He was a wealthy businessman and the administrator of the Pfauenmoos country estate in Berg and Altenklingen Castle .

In 1585 he took over the office of city ​​judge and in 1595 and 1611 of the penal judge . In 1599 he was elected to the school council and together with his brothers founded a larger school fund. He was also a Panner captain several times .

In the period from 1613 to 1625 he worked, alternating with Joachim Reutlinger , Georg Huber and Ambrosius Schlumpf (elected in 1620), every three years as mayor , former mayor and imperial bailiff of St. Gallen.

Joachim Zollikofer had been married to Katharina, daughter of Mattheus Seutter from Kempten , since 1572 .
