Oetlishausen Castle is located in the Thurgau municipality of Hohentannen . It was first mentioned as a castle in 1176. It changed hands many times over the centuries and has been rebuilt again and again.

In 1953 the city of Zurich bought it and set up a school home for housekeeping courses. In 2007 the Zurich City Council approved the sale of the property to a private person. All buildings were restored in 2008 with contributions from the cantonal office for the preservation of monuments and a riding hall was added. Another handover took place in 2018.
