Jochen Neurath

Jochen Neurath (born August 13, 1968 in Celle ) is a German composer , arranger and conductor .

Life

Neurath studied composition, piano and music theory at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater . In addition, he completed private composition studies with Horst Lohse as well as studies in German and philosophy. In 1990 he founded the composer trio NeuNoNeit with Kay Ivo Nowáck and Johannes Harneit . In 1993 he conducted the German premiere of John Cage's Euro Pera 5 in Hamburg (in combination with Socrate by Erik Satie ). From 2001 to 2006 he was “Composer in Residence” at the Hanover State Opera . In 2017 he created a performance version of the unfinished third act of Alban Berg's opera Lulu for the Hamburg State Opera .
