Joel Rechlicz (born June 14, 1987 in Brookfield , Wisconsin ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League since July 2014 and is also used for their farm team, the Iowa Wild .

Career

Joel Rechlicz began his career as a hockey player with the Santa Fe Roadrunners, for which he was active in the junior league North American Hockey League in the 2004/05 season . In the 2005/06 season, the attacker played only seven games for the Des Moines Buccaneers and Indiana Ice from the United States Hockey League and the Gatineau Olympiques from the QMJHL . After he had started the following season at Gatineau in the QMJHL, he finished the season with the Chicago Hounds from the United Hockey League .

The 2007/08 season spent Rechlicz with the Kalamazoo Wings from the International Hockey League and the Albany River Rats from the American Hockey League . He then received on May 6, 2008 as a free agent a contract with the New York Islanders , for which he made his debut in the National Hockey League in the 2008/09 season . He prepared a goal in 17 games. However, the right-handed shooter spent most of the season with New York's farm teams , the Utah Grizzlies from the ECHL and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers from the AHL. In the 2009/10 season Rechlicz played again for both the Islanders and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the AHL. In July 2010 he signed a contract as a free agent with the Hershey Bears in the AHL.

On July 2, 2014, he signed a one-year contract as a free agent with the Minnesota Wild and plays primarily for their farm team , the Iowa Wild .
