Joelle Marie Carter (born October 10, 1972 in Thomasville , Georgia ) is an American actress and model .

life and career

Joelle Carter grew up in different places in the United States because her father was in the US Army and was often transferred. After graduating from high school in Albany , Georgia , she began working as a model, so she moved to New York City . There she also took up a degree in theater studies and began working as an actress.

From the end of the 1990s, Carter played supporting roles in television series such as Law & Order or Wonderland and cinema productions such as Der Pferdeflüsterer (1998), High Fidelity (2000) or American Pie 2 (2001). After episodic roles in television series such as CSI: Miami and Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten , Carter appeared as Ava Crowder in 73 of the 78 episodes of the FX series Justified from 2010 to 2015 .

Carter is married with one daughter. She lives with her family in New York City and Los Angeles .
