Johann Friedrich Emil von Müller

Johann Friedrich Emil von Müller (until 1894: Müller ) (born April 29, 1810 in Coburg ; † January 4, 1900 there ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

Born the son of a sergeant , Müller studied Protestant theology in Jena after attending the Coburg council school and grammar school . During his studies in 1831 he became a member of the Jenaische Burschenschaft / Germania , whose spokesman he was in 1832 and 1833. In 1833 he withdrew and was no longer a member of the more radical Germania, which continued to exist as a club after the fraternity was dissolved . Nevertheless, an investigation was carried out during the demagogue persecution . Müller is mentioned in the Black Book of the Frankfurt Central Authority (1833-1838) as a member of the Jena fraternity. He was in custody at the Wartburg taken dismissed at the request of the Coburg Ministry on bail and approved in 1834 by a grand ducal pardon for exams per candidatura. As a ministerial candidate he was sentenced to five months imprisonment in a fortress in 1835 because he had been politically active at the university. After two months of imprisonment at the Coburg Fortress , he was pardoned. He was promoted to Dr. theol. PhD .

In 1837 Müller became the first senior teacher at the girls' bourgeois school in Coburg. In 1839 he was at Ernst-Albert seminar worked, he from 1845 in addition to Office together with Archdeacon headed Muther. In 1845 the magistrate elected him 4th deacon and preacher at the Kreuzkirche , 1856 3rd deacon, 1858 2nd deacon, 1859 1st deacon and in 1871 senior pastor . From 1843 he headed the Coburg evening party. Because of his work as a pulpit speaker , he became Ephorus of the rural district in 1863 and of the city district in 1870. In 1871 he became provisional and in 1873 finally general superintendent , whereby he headed the Coburg regional church from 1895 . He was an advisor for spiritual and school matters in the ducal Saxony-Coburg and Gotha State Ministry. Müller would become a consistorial councilor .

In 1850 he gave a funeral speech for Karl August von Wangenheim , in 1868 for Leopold Oberländer and in 1893 for Duke Ernst II.

In 1891 he confirmed Victoria Melita von Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha and Marie von Edinburgh in Coburg .
