Johann Gabriel Macasius , also Macasy , Maccasius or Makasy , von Sternfels since 1663 (* around 1608 in St. Joachimsthal ; † May 16, 1665 ibid), was a Bohemian trade , Bergmeister von Gottesgab , city ​​treasurer and mayor of St. Joachimsthal.

Life

Macasius was the son of the town clerk, treasurer and mayor of St. Joachimsthal Johannes Macasius the Elder. J. Originally of Rhaeto-Romanic origin, the family came from Friuli , where a supposed ancestor is mentioned as early as 1491 in Spilimbergo (German Spengenberg ). His grandfather was Johannes Macasius the Elder , who emigrated from Carinthia for reasons of faith . Ä. In 1624 he enrolled at the University of Leipzig . Originally a Protestant, he converted to the Catholic faith in 1632/1633 in order not to lose his family property. He was appointed Bergmeister von Gottesgab and held the offices of city treasurer and mayor in his hometown. On September 9, 1633, together with Christoph Löwel , he leased the so-called medium-sized grinding mill on the Breitenbach, which stood dreary and desolate for ten years from the city council. She had to grind the courts , to sell the flour freely, to bake home-made and Bohemian bread, and to bake and sell stollen and rolls with the consent of the trade after the set days . In 1663 he and his three sons were awarded the nobility diploma with the title von Sternfels in Prague , which included all his marital heirs and the same heirs of Mans and Frawen, persons for ever in all places and ends . On May 16, 1665 Mr. Johann Gabriel Maccasius died and was buried in the church .
