Johann Heinrich Albert von Doeberitz

Johann Heinrich Albert von Doeberitz (born August 24, 1738 in Stargard in Pomerania ; † April 11, 1811 in Rahnwerder , Saatzig district ) was a Prussian major general in the "Kurprinz" infantry regiment .

Life

origin

He was the son of Johann Christoph von Doeberitz (1698–1738) and his wife Friederike Amalie, born von Borcke (1710–1772).

Military career

In 1750 Doeberitz became a Page with the Prussian King Friedrich II. In 1756 he came as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "Prince of Prussia". During the Seven Years' War he fought in the battles of Prague , Breslau , Zorndorf , Kunersdorf , Hochkirch , Liegnitz , Torgau , Reichenbach and the sieges of Schweidnitz and Dresden. In the time he was on January 7, 1758 Ensign , on August 31, 1758 second lieutenant , and on 31 December 1760 First Lieutenant .

After the war, Doeberitz was accepted under the Johanniter Knights on October 1, 1764 . On October 11, 1771 he was staff captain and on October 12, 1776 captain and company commander . As such, he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On November 1, 1786 he became major and on March 30, 1788 battalion commander. On February 2, 1793 he became lieutenant colonel and on January 28, 1795 colonel . On February 18, 1795 Doeberitz received his resignation as major general with permission to wear the uniform and a pension of 600 thalers .

After the lost war of 1806 he was put on half pay on July 4th, 1807 . On January 4, 1811 he received a gift of 200 thalers and died in the same year on April 11, 1811. He was heir to Schönhagen and Lentzke. He later sold the latter to buy Gut Rahnwerder.

family

Doeberitz married on October 15, 1770 in Brandenburg an der Havel Countess Marianne Karoline von Schmettau (* March 12, 1745 - May 4, 1795), daughter of Lieutenant General Karl Christoph von Schmettau . The couple had several children including:

  • Friederike Katharina Luise Karoline (* June 14, 1771) ∞ Friedrich August von Wangenheim (* 1753/1754; † October 14, 1806), major in Infantry Regiment No. 18, killed near Auerstedt
  • Agnese Albertine Marianne (September 6, 1773 - August 2, 1774)
  • Karoline Friederike Henriette Amaline (born November 10, 1776) ∞ NN von Wedel zu Moschütz, Knighthood Councilor

The male line of Doeberitz ended with the major general. The heirs were the (adoptive) children of his brother Georg Ludwig Christoph von Doeberitz, who founded the Knebel-Doeberitz line .
