Johann Wagner-yours
Johann Wagner-Deines (* 1803 in Hanau ; † April 12, 1880 in Munich ) was a German landscape, marine and animal painter.
Wagner-Deines began his painting studies in Kassel and Berlin , and from July 19, 1826 he studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Max Josef Wagenbauer . His models were the works of Paulus Potter and Adriaen van de Velde . He also dealt with lithography .
Because of his passion for Dutch painting, he moved to Holland in the 1830s . There he mainly painted coastal and seascapes. He lived alternately in The Hague , Dordrecht and other places, where he met Andreas Schelfhout and Hendrik van de Sande Bakhuyzen .
Around 1840 Wagner-Deines returned to Munich, where he set up his studio in the Sendling district . His students included u. a. the horse painter Ludwig Hartmann .
He visited Holland several times until 1866, since then he has lived permanently in Munich.
