John Davis Chandler
John Davis Chandler (born January 28, 1935 in Hinton , West Virginia , † February 16, 2010 in Toluca Lake ) was an American actor .
Life
Chandler, a slender, curious actor with pale blue eyes, often portrayed neurotic, dangerous, and insidious characters. His historical debut role as gangster Vincent Coll in Mad Dog Coll from 1961 showed his further professional path and sympathetic characters remained the exception for him. In addition to his film work, including three westerns for Sam Peckinpah , he was a frequent guest on television series ; his filmography includes almost 90 different titles and series, most recently in 1998 in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine . In the 1974 Columbo episode Write or Die , he appeared as a gun-loving assassin.
Yoga devotee Chandler died in 2010 at the age of 75 on his decades-old property in California.
