John Lennon Silva Santos , called John Lennon or Lennon , (born December 29, 1991 in Araguaína , TO ) is a Brazilian soccer player . The right footer is used as a left or right defender.

Career

John Lennon started his career at Vila Nova FC from Goiânia . At Vila Nova he played his first professional competitive game on April 17, 2011 in the state championship of Goiás . In the home game against Goianésia EC , he came on in the 46th minute for Luizinho . He also scored his first goal in the competition. In the home game against AA Anapolina he was in the starting line-up and scored in the 14th minute to make it 1-0 (final score 1: 1). In total, Lennon competed 14 times. The first game in the national championship of the Série B played Lennon on June 26, 2011. With the club he played away against AS Arapiraquense . Lennon was in the starting line-up and was sent off with a red card in the 55th minute. In the season he appeared for Vila Nova in the competition 13 more times, where he was once in the starting line-up and once came off the bench. He didn't score a goal here.

After Lennon initially returned to the national championship for Vila Nova in the 2012 season, he then moved to Botafogo FR in Rio de Janeiro . The contract had a term of four years. On June 16, 2016 he appeared with Botafogo for the first time in the top Brazilian league, the Série A. Lennon was in the away game against SC Internacional in the starting line-up. In the season, seven more missions followed in the competition. Lennon also played his first game at international club level with Botafogo. In the away game against Palmeiras São Paulo in the Copa Sudamericana 2012 , he was substituted on for Lucas Marques in the 81st minute . In the following year Lennon was loaned to Atlético Goianiense . He scored three goals for the club in 44 games in various competitions in 2013.

At the end of the loan deal in 2013, Lennon returned to Botafogo. After he did not play here, he moved to Grêmio Esportivo Glória in Vacaria at the end of his contract in early 2016 . With this he appeared in twelve games in the state championship of Rio Grande do Sul . Following the competition Lennon was from CS Sergipe obliged it for the Série D aground.

At the start of the 2017 season, Lennon changed clubs again. First came EC Cruzeiro (RS) from Cachoeirinha in Rio Grande do Sul , with the club he appeared in 13 games in the state championship of Rio Grande do Sul .

Subsequently, Lennon was signed by the namesake of the Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte for two years. The contract included an option to extend the contract for a further two years. With the club he achieved the first title success of his career with the Copa do Brasil 2017 . At the start of the 2018 season, John left Lennon again. He switched to CS Alagoano .

In August 2018 John Lennon moved to the EC Pelotas . At the club he received a contract until the end of 2019. In 2018, Lennon played in nine games (one goal) of the Copa FGF for Pelotas. He stayed with Pelotas for the 2019 Rio Grande do Sul state championship . In the competition he played nine games (no goal). To host the national championship, John Lennon moved to EC Juventude , with which he competed in the C series . In the course of the current season, Juventude left with 22 appearances (17 in Série C, one goal and five Copa do Brasil 2019 , no goal). He went to the Operário Ferroviário EC in order to appear in eight games in the B series.
