Jordan Nobbs (born December 8, 1992 in Stockton-on-Tees ) is an English football player . The midfielder has played for Arsenal Women FC since 2011 and for the England team since 2013 . She is the daughter of the English soccer player Keith Nobbs .

Career

Nobbs started playing football at the age of eight and played for Sunderland's first team at the age of 16. In 2009 she reached the final of the FA Women's Cup with Sunderland , in which they lost 2-1 to Arsenal. In 2010 she won the Women's FA Young Player of the Year Award . In 2011 she moved to Arsenal. With Arsenal she won the English championship in 2011 and 2012 and the FA Women's Cup in 2010/2011, 2012/2013, 2013/2014 and 2015/2016, and the league cup three times. In the 2010/11 , 2011/12 and 2012/13 UEFA Women's Champions League they were only eliminated in the semi-finals against Olympique Lyon , 1. FFC Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg . Then they were eliminated in the quarter-finals in the English duel against Birmingham City LFC . Only through the championship 2018/2019 could they qualify for the European competition.

National teams

Nobbs played in England's U-15 national team at the age of twelve, and she became captain at the age of 13. At the age of 14, she became the captain of the U-17 team. In total, she scored 14 goals in 43 games for the English U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-23 teams. In 2008 she was fourth with the U-17 team at the World Cup in New Zealand , where the game for third place was lost 3-0 against Germany . In 2009 she won the European Championship with the U-19 team and scored the 2-0 final in the final against Sweden. The following year she reached the final of the European Championship again , but lost the title there by a 1: 3 against France. In the same year she took part in the World Cup in Germany with the U-20 team , but was eliminated in the preliminary round. In 2011 she was on the standby list for the Women's World Cup . With the U-23 team, she took part in a tournament in La Manga in 2012 , where she was used in all three games against Norway, the USA and Sweden and scored the 2-2 final in the game against Sweden.

At the Cyprus Cup 2013 she was used in the group match against Italy for the first time in the senior team and scored the 1-0 opening goal in the 7th minute (final score 4: 2). It was also used against New Zealand and in the final against Canada. Nobbs was in the English squad for the EM 2013 in Sweden , but was not used.

At the Cyprus Cup 2015 she led England onto the field for the first time as team captain in the final and won the title against Canada with her team. She was then part of the English squad for the World Cup in Canada, despite an injury two weeks before the World Cup, and was only used in the last group match against Colombia . This made her the field player with the fewest appearances at the World Cup. Their team then managed to win against Germany for the first time in the game for third place , with England winning a World Cup medal for the first time after the men's World Cup victory in 1966.

In qualifying for the 2017 European Championship , she made five appearances and as many in the final round, which ended for the English women with a loss in the semi-finals against the hosts. She also had five appearances in qualifying for the 2019 World Cup . Due to a knee injury, she then missed the finals in France. It could only be used again in October 2019.
