José Armando Álvarez Cano

José Armando Álvarez Cano (born January 30, 1960 in Jiquilpan , Michoacán ) is a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Tampico .

Life

José Armando Álvarez Cano was ordained a priest on February 8, 1986 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him prelate of Huautla on November 3, 2011 . The apostolic nuncio in Mexico , Christophe Pierre , donated him episcopal ordination on January 30 of the next year; Co- consecrators were Cardinal Alberto Suárez Inda , Archbishop of Morelia , and José Luis Chávez Botello , Archbishop of Antequera, Oaxaca .

On May 11, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Tampico. The inauguration took place on July 5th of the same year.
