José Javier Travieso Martín CMF (born February 5, 1952 in Don Benito , Spain) is Vicar Apostolic of San José de Amazonas .

Life

José Javier Travieso Martín joined the order of the Claretians , made his profession on March 19, 1976 and was ordained a priest on June 26, 1976 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on January 7, 2009 auxiliary bishop in Trujillo and titular bishop of Tubusuptu . The Archbishop of Trujillo, Héctor Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte OFM , donated him episcopal ordination on March 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Gaspar Quintana Jorquera CMF, Bishop of Copiapó , and Bruno Musarò , Apostolic Nuncio in Peru .

On November 1, 2014 Pope appointed him Francis to the Apostolic Vicar of San José de Amazonas . The inauguration took place on February 1 of the following year.
