José Luís Azcona Hermoso OAR (born March 28, 1940 in Pamplona ) is a Spanish priest emeritus prelate of Marajó .

Life

José Luís Azcona Hermoso joined the order of the Augustinian recollects and was ordained a priest on December 21, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Prelate of Marajó on February 16, 1987 . The Archbishop of Belém do Pará , Alberto Gaudêncio Ramos , donated him episcopal ordination on April 5 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Florentino Zabalza Iturri OAR, Prelate of Lábrea , and Vicente Joaquim Zico CM , Coadjutor Archbishop of Belém do Pará. As a motto he chose In nomine Domini .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 1, 2016.
