José María Carrizo Villarreal

José María Carrizo Villarreal (born August 5, 1918 in Ocú , Herrera Province , Panama , † April 15, 1998 ) was a Panamanian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Chitré .

Life

José María Carrizo Villarreal was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Panama on December 20, 1942 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on January 21, 1963 first bishop of the newly established diocese of Chitré . The Apostolic Nuncio in Panama , Antonino Pinci , donated him episcopal ordination on March 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Francisco Beckmann CM , Archbishop of Panama, and Tomás Alberto Clavel Méndez , Bishop of David .

He took part in the second, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a Council Father.

Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation on October 29, 1994.
