The Diocese of David ( Latin Dioecesis Davidensis , Spanish Diócesis de David ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in David in Panama . It includes the province of Chiriquí .

Pope Pius XII founded with the bull Amantissimus Deus on March 6, 1955, the diocese of David from territory of the Archdiocese of Panama and subordinated it to this as a suffragan . On October 17, 1962, it ceded parts of its territory to the newly established territorial prelature Bocas del Toro .
