Josef Chloupek , (born April 22, 1908 ; † unknown) was an Austrian football player who was part of the national team during the time of the wonder team .

Career

The trained locksmith Chloupek began his career at Floridsdorfer AC , where he made his debut in the I. league in January 1927 and was quickly able to gain a regular place as an outside runner. The team around Karl Humenberger and Karl Jiszda was able to assert itself regularly in the secured midfield of the table in the following years and reach the semifinals in the ÖFB Cup in 1928 .

In April 1928, Chloupek was used for the first time in the national team when the Austrians were defeated 0-1 against Czechoslovakia in Vienna. In the following years, due to the strong competition in the right runner position, the Floridsdorfer was only used in the B national team and the Viennese city selection, whereby a representative game in July 1931 against Switzerland was declared an official international game in the 1970s . As a result, Chloupek was even used in today's statistics for a mission in the wonder team era.

At the end of 1931 he left Austria and together with Humenberger moved to FC Zurich in Switzerland, where he also worked for FC Lugano and FC Basel over the next few years . In 1934 the Austrian coach Vinzenz Dittrich brought him to Olympique Marseille , where he played with József Eisenhoffer and Vilmos Kohut for one season before returning to Austria. There he worked briefly at the beginning of the 1935/36 season for his home club FAC, but after a few weeks he switched to the Wiener Sport-Club , where he ended his professional career in 1938. After that he was still active as a player- coach at SK Dürnkrut and led the Lower Austrian amateur club to the championship title in 1st class north.
