Josef Staltmayr (born September 2, 1980 in Peißenberg ) is a former German ice hockey player who last played at SC Riessersee in the DEL2 on the position of defender .

Career

Staltmayr first went through all youth departments at TSV Peißenberg and had already made his first appearances in the first team of TSV Peißenberg in the 1997/98 season , when he was used in 19 matches in the 2nd division and achieved an assist . From the 1998/99 season he was in the regular line-up of the Regionalliga team for two seasons . For the 2000/01 season , the defender moved to the next higher division to EHC Wolfsburg , with which he made promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in the same season . Following this success, he remained for another two seasons in Wolfsburg, before the 2003-04 season for ERC Hassfurt changed. He stayed there for a season and moved to league rivals Hannover Indians for the 2004/05 season . Here he was able to improve his performance and for the 2009/10 season he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with the team. After the past season, Staltmayr moved after six years in Hanover for the 2010/11 season to SC Riessersee, who was relegated to the league . After a solid season and winning the Oberliga championship with SC Riessersee, he again made it to the 2nd Bundesliga with one team. In July 2011, his contract with SC Riessersee was extended. In August 2011, Staltmayr, Florian Vollmer , Harti Wild and Tim Regan were appointed interim coaches after Marcus Bleicher resigned from his position with immediate effect and no new head coach has yet been signed. This means that co-trainer Andreas Raubal will also be supported in his new role as co-trainer.

After a total of six seasons in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he ended his career as a professional player after the 2015/16 season and moved back to his home club TSV Peißenberg, where he took over the coaching position from the following season.
