Marcus Bleicher (born October 11, 1967 in Füssen ) is a former German ice hockey player who played for the EC Hanover and the Frankfurt Lions in the German Ice Hockey League during his career . He is currently training his hometown club, EV Füssen . He was also a former coach of SC Riessersee and ESV Kaufbeuren .

Career

As a player

Bleicher began his career in 1985 in the EV Füssen team , with whom he was henceforth active in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey . In his second season at EV Füssen he scored 44 points in 35 appearances and another 20 points in the 17 playoff appearances. For the 1987/88 season he finally moved to the Mannheim ERC in the ice hockey Bundesliga for five years . In the first two years in Mannheim, he was unable to build on his personal successes from Füssen, but this should change from the 1990/91 season . After a two-year stint at league rivals EV Landshut , he moved to the newly founded German Ice Hockey League for the 1994/95 season at EC Hannover . He stayed here for another two years before moving again. He then went through various divisions and teams before he joined his old employer, the EV feet in the ice hockey league for the 2001/02 season. After four years and good performances, he moved to league rivals EV Ravensburg for the 2005/06 season . After only one year in Ravensburg he moved to SC Riessersee , where he ended his playing career after another year of professional hockey at the age of 39 after the 2006/07 season.

As a trainer

During Bleicher's time with the Hamburg Crocodiles, he was named interim coach after the dismissal of trainer Dieter Frenzel , as he was already the owner of the trainer B license at that time.

In the following 2007/08 season , Bleicher made his coaching debut and replaced the well-known coach Andreas Brockmann , under whom he still worked as a player in the 2006/07 season, at SC Riessersee and, despite his inexperience, reached a club that was traded as a relegation candidate fifth place. The team thus moved into the playoffs. But Bleicher himself received despite the success no connection contract and moved to the 2008/09 season for ESV Kaufbeuren . However, he only stayed here for a year and then allowed himself a one-year break from ice hockey before he was hired again as a coach by SC Riessersee for the 2010/11 season . With the newly formed Oberliga team he reached second place in regular time and was able to celebrate the Oberliga championship in the subsequent playoffs. At the end of August, Bleicher resigned from the coaching office with immediate effect after the first training game against EV Füssen and reported differences of opinion with the managing director of SC Riessersee Ralph Bader. Bleicher, who has a permanent position as a postman, briefly took over the SC Riessersee as an interim trainer at the beginning of 2013 after Axel Kammerer was on leave. For the 2013/14 season, Bleicher was coach of EV Füssen.
