Born in Wolnzach , in the Hallertau , Josef W. Seifert, a Silesian expellee as a child, began his professional life at 14 as an apprentice in a car repair shop. At 17 he had the craft apprenticeship as a "mechanic" and at 24 the master school for the "mechanic master" as well as the technical school for the "state-certified technician" specializing in general. Mechanical engineering completed. Since then, his life has been shaped by the parallelism of work and training.

After his apprenticeship, he switched to the development department at BMW AG in Munich and, in addition to working at BMW, attended evening schools in Munich for Refa, business administration ... secondary school entrance qualification, high school diploma. During this time, he went from being a skilled worker to being a clerk and finally to a manager . He later switched to personnel development at the Munich plant at BMW, where it was his task to set up leadership training at the Munich plant, with a focus on the development of junior managers, which he then headed for five years.

In addition to his job, Seifert studied management at the University of Augsburg and business education ( andragogy , sociology and psychology ) at the University of Koblenz-Landau . Since then he has been working in the field of systemic organizational consulting, initially as a management trainer and later as a moderator and coach, especially for leadership and conflict resolution.

Seifert coined the term business moderation and developed the moderation approach based on the " moderation cycle ", a process model for moderation that serves as a meta-structural model for meetings, workshops and large group conferences , for planning and designing group discussions. He established the moderator as a profession in the business sector , comparable to that of radio and TV moderator in the public sector. Seifert is also considered to be an important representative of systemic conflict moderation .

He became known beyond German borders as the author of numerous essays, book chapters, books and audio books - especially through his first book: "Visualize, Present, Moderate", which was translated into several languages. Josef W. Seifert taught in the college for master class students as well as as a certified trainer in the Federal Mediation Association and as a lecturer at academies and universities, he also regularly leads training courses in business moderation and conflict resolution .
