Joseph Friedrich Treppner

Joseph Friedrich Treppner (born August 4, 1799 in Rieneck ; † March 8, 1860 in Würzburg ) was the first legally qualified mayor of the city of Würzburg from 1853 to 1859 . He was also legal advisor to the Juliusspital and first class knight of the Order of Merit of St. Michael .

Life

Friedrich Treppner went to the Royal High School in Würzburg and married Isabella Franz (1808–1877) in 1837, the year he started working as a lawyer at the Würzburg District and City Court . He was married to her for 24 years until his death. He died of a stroke at the age of 60 .

During his work as mayor, a modern drinking water supply was established for the city in the 1850s.
