Joseph Leitkrath

Joseph Leitkrath (* 1736 or 1738 in Eggenthal , † 1811 ) was a Swabian painter and fresco painter of the Rococo .

Life

Joseph Leitkrath settled in Donauwörth in 1765 after his training in Buchloe and Augsburg . There he married Anna Maria Krennerin, the widow of a painter. Through this marriage he became a master and a citizen of the city. He received orders for the parish church of St. Mauritius in Emskeim , the parish church of St. Martin in Mertingen and the parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Dillishausen . Joseph Leitkrath also worked in the Schwabmünchen area and what is now the district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen .
