Under his leadership, the AG Eintracht Braunkohlenwerke und Briketfabriken zu Welzow (also called "Eintracht" for short) was founded in Berlin on January 1, 1887 . During the tenure of Daniel Fengler as the head of the Neu Welzow office, Joseph Werminghoff, as chairman of the company's supervisory board, moved the company's headquarters from Berlin to Welzow in 1905 .

Joseph Werminghoff coordinated all the concepts of the major "Eintracht" project in the Lusatian lignite mining district and the Welzow site expansion. The relocation of a corporate headquarters to a previously insignificant location was a great stroke of luck for Welzow. The number of employees in the company grew from 600 in 1900 to over 1600 in 1934. Many technological innovations originated in Welzow, such as: B. the preparation of the fine coal to be briquetted by withstanding woody components, the electrostatic dedusting devices or the wet precipitation of the coal dust with sludge water . Many Welzow developments of "Eintracht" have been patented.

Construction projects such as the town hall, the schools, cemetery chapels , fire stations , the sewer system as well as the exemplary construction of the bathing establishment and, last but not least, the support for the settlement of allotments were milestones for the growing industrial site. The construction of the local electrical network and the construction of the water pipeline were carried out with financial support from "Eintracht". This was the beginning of the sustainable industrialization of Welzow.

Joseph Werminghoff was not only active in business in Welzow. His visit to the inauguration of the schoolhouse (corner of Cottbuser Straße / Germaniastraße) on November 7, 1899 and the after-party in the “Zur Grube Clara” inn, when the schoolchildren performed “Wallenstein's camp” by Friedrich Schiller , has been handed down. Through his functions in the employers 'association of the German Brown Coal Industry Association , in the railway council, miners ' union board, etc. Joseph Werminghoff was highly valued as an advisor and expert in the Prussian administration. He spent the last years of his life in Dresden- Weißer Hirsch .

Awards

The community of Welzow honored Werminghoff at the beginning of the 20th century by naming a street, which was renamed Franz-Mehring- Strasse for ideological reasons after the Second World War .
