Career

Ho-Sang comes from a multicultural family and is of Jewish faith . His father immigrated to Canada from the island of Jamaica at the age of ten and has Chinese ancestors who lived in Hong Kong . His mother comes from Chile and has Russian and Swedish ancestors. She came to Canada at the age of twelve.

First, Ho-Sang played until 2012 for the Toronto Marlboros in the junior leagues of the province of Ontario . In the OHL Priority Selection , the striker was selected by the Windsor Spitfires from the Ontario Hockey League in fifth position. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season , he was finally in their squad and, as a 16-year-old, played 63 games in his rookie season . He got 44 points scorer . He almost doubled this yield in the following season with 85 points. In the summer he was finally selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft 2014 in 28th place by the New York Islanders from the National Hockey League . After the attacker signed his first professional contract with the Islanders in October, but the franchise allowed him to continue playing in the junior division, he began the 2014/15 season in Windsor. Although he missed the first six games of the season due to a suspension, he led the team after almost a third of the season by scorer points. However, he was transferred to league competitor Niagara IceDogs in mid-November . Ho-Sang spent the rest of his junior years at the IceDogs until spring 2016. In 288 OHL games over a period of four years, he scored 337 points scorer.

For the 2016/17 season , the Canadian finally switched to the professional field. After he had already participated unsuccessfully in the Islanders 'pre-season training camp in the previous two years, at the beginning of the season he was given a place in the roster of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers , the Islanders' farm team in the American Hockey League . There he spent his first professional playing time until the beginning of March 2017, before he was appointed to the New York NHL squad for the first time and made his debut there. At this point he had scored 36 points in 48 AHL games.

After he had spent the 2019/20 season exclusively in the AHL up to this point, the Islanders awarded him to the San Antonio Rampage within the league in February 2020 .

International

For his home country, Ho-Sang played in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2013 as a member of the Ontario team . He finished sixth with the team, to which he contributed five scorer points in five missions.
