Yulia Sergeyevna Makarova
Julija Sergejewna Makarowa ( Russian Юлия Сергеевна Макарова ; born November 24, 1981 in Labytnangi in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug ) is a former Russian biathlete .
Julija Makarowa made her international debut at the Junior European Championships in Zakopane in 2000 . In the sprint she was eighth, in the pursuit fifth and in the individual sixth, with the relay she won the title with Irina Formina and Jelena Khrustaljowa . At the subsequent Junior World Championships in Hochfilzen , she won silver in sprint and relay behind Sabrina Buchholz . A year later she won silver in the sprint at the Junior European Championships in Haute-Maurienne behind Tatjana Moissejewa as well as gold in the relay (with Moiseeva and Marina Bortschukowa ) and in the pursuit. She also won medals again at the subsequent Junior World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk . Bronze in individual and sprint, gold again with the relay (with Moiseeva and Nadeschda Kolesnikowa ).
In 2002 Makarowa made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup . In Antholz she came in 57th place in an individual. The highlight of the season was their participation in their first European championships in Kontiolahti . In addition to good results in the individual races, she won the relay silver behind the German team with Irina Malgina , Lilija Jefremowa and Olga Romasko . 2003 Makarowa was again relay European champion in Forni Avoltri . In the European Cup, in which she was regularly used in 2003 and 2004, she won a pursuit race in Geilo . In 2003, she won World Cup points for the first time as 16th in the pursuit. Her best year was 2005. In the relay she was second in Oberhof , in Antholz she finished sixth in the individual, her best ever World Cup result and was also 13th in the sprint and eleventh in the pursuit. A tenth place was added in the Pokljuka mass start . At the end of the season Makarowa was after eight placements in the points 35th of the overall World Cup. The reward was a nomination for the Biathlon World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen . There she was used in singles and took 20th place.
