Julia Mumbi Muraga (born January 25, 1985 ) is a Kenyan marathon runner .

In 2006 she was fourth in the Sapporo Half Marathon and twelfth in the Beijing Marathon . The following year she was fifth in the Nagoya Marathon , again fourth in Sapporo and won the Kobe Half Marathon. In 2008 she won the Miyazaki Half Marathon and came third in the Osaka Women's Marathon . After a second place in the Sendai half marathon and a third in Sapporo, she started at the World Half Marathon Championships in Rio de Janeiro . As seventh in the individual ranking, she contributed to winning the silver medal for the Kenyan team. At the end of the season, she defended her title in Kobe.

In 2009 she was fifth at the Paris Marathon after finishing tenth in the RAK half marathon . In Sendai and Sapporo she was second before she came in twelfth place at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin . In the fall, she won the Nagoya half marathon.

In 2010 she finished fourth in the Great Scottish Run and seventh in the Amsterdam Marathon . A victory at the Reims Marathon 2011 was followed by a ninth place at the Paris Marathon 2012. In 2014 she won the Cologne Marathon . However, her doping test was positive for Epo . The victory was revoked again and the Kenyan Association banned her for two years.

Julia Mumbi Muraga graduated from Aomori Yamada High School and then started working for the company team of the Japanese slot machine manufacturer Aruze until 2010 , where she was trained by Yoshio Koide.
