The Künzelsberg near Beichlingen in the Sömmerda district is 380.1  m above sea level. NHN the highest mountain of the Schmücke in northeastern Thuringia , Germany .

Geographical location

The mountain is located in the northeastern part of the Sömmerda district at the transition to the Kyffhäuserkreis between the villages of Hauteroda in the north, Burgwendi in the southeast and Beichlingen in the southwest. The district town of Sömmerda is about 13 kilometers to the south-west.

particularities

The completely forested mountain is the highest point of the Schmücke mountain range. The foothills of the mountain are the Monraburg (377.0 m) in the east, the Luderkopf (up to 340 m) in the south and the Hundertäcker (351.5 m) in the northwest . Several hiking trails lead across the mountain area, including the Rennweg on the crest of the Schmücke, but the summit itself is not a scenic mountain .
