Cabinet Tong III
The third Tong cabinet was formed by Anote Tong , President of the Republic of Kiribati , on January 17, 2012 and sworn in on the same day in Parliament, the tenth Maneaba ni Maungatabu .
President Tong was re-elected for his third term from 2012 to 2015 on January 13, 2012 . In the parliamentary elections in Kiribati in 2011 , some of the members of his second cabinet (2007 to 2011) were not re-elected, so that Tong, leader of the ruling party Boutokaan Te Koaua (BTK), increasingly resorted to members of the opposition party Maurin Kiribati (MKP) .
The eleven-member cabinet consists of two women ministers.
The office of President (Te Beretitenti) is combined with that of Foreign Minister. His Vice President Teima Onorio also holds the post of Minister of the Interior and Social Affairs.
