The Kainsbach is a six kilometer long right and southeast tributary of the Gersprenz .

The Kainsbach rises at an altitude of 370  m above sea level. NHN in the Odenwald on the northern slope of the Morsberg ( 516.7  m above sea level ) and south of the Reichelsheim district of Ober-Kainsbach near the Spreng .

It flows north-north-west and passes the village of Ober-Kainsbach where a second spring branch reinforces it on the left. A little north of it, it is fed by the Wünschbach on its right side . When the district of Brensbach hamlet Affhöllerbach belonging hamlet Stiersbach him turn flows on the right side of the river of the same name to.

The Kainsbach then flows through the Nieder-Kainsbach district of Brensbach , crosses under the B 38 and finally flows west of the village at an altitude of 177  m above sea level. NHN from the right into the Gersprenz .
