Bridge over the Kallbach

Weiersbach
The Weiersbach rises a good 800 meters northwest of the center of Sistig at an altitude of 533  m above sea level. NHN on federal road 258 .

From here the stream flows northeast towards Rinnen , passing Frohnrath on the left slope and about 600 meters before Rinnen from the right takes on the Salbersbach , which is about half a kilometer longer and emerges southeast of Sistig on the edge of a forest bay.

Kallbach
Then return the now Kallbach called stream just to the northwest in the direction of the inflow Salbersbachs and then flows around in quick turn to the right to Fronrather head , after which he is equal to the two-kilometer long Rotzbach tapers from the left. Now on the north-east course, it flows through the nature reserve Kallbach and Rotzbach to the district of Golbach . Here it takes up the three and a half kilometers long stream of the same name from the left and flows along the state road 105 to Kall .

In the village the brook flows from the left and at an almost right angle into the Urft coming from the south .

Its 7.2 km long run ends about 153 meters below its source, so it has an average bed gradient of 21 ‰.

Catchment area

The 15.01 km² catchment area of the Kallbach lies in the North Eifel and is drained to the North Sea via the Urft, Rur , Maas and Hollands Diep .

The border of the catchment area stretches from the confluence in the north approximately westwards to the summit of Kindshardt , from there in an inwardly curved arc approximately to the confluence of the L 105 with the B 258 a little west of Broich .

From here the B 258 runs south-south-east very precisely on the watershed, which is on the Krekeler Heide at over 590  m above sea level. NHN reached the highest point in the catchment area. From there it continues in a north-easterly to north-westerly direction, each a little west of Diefenbach , Steinfelderheistert and then Rinnen and finally back over the Horsehead and Loshardt to the mouth; On this entire section it is nowhere more than 600 meters away from the Salbersbach and Kallbach rivers. The catchment area is therefore noticeably left-leaning.
