Kalmberg is a cadastral municipality of the market town of Bad Kreuzen with 486 inhabitants (as of May 15, 2001).

The administrative unit created as a tax community in the Kreutzen district in the rulership of Kreuzen Castle belonged to the parish of Kreuzen as well as to the district commissariat and the Kreutzen school district (1825). Kreutzen was later merged with the Greinburg district commissioner.

Kalmberg was an independent local community from 1850 to 1875 . During this time the following people were mayors :

The local community Kalmberg had 72 houses and 472 inhabitants in 1869, spread over the villages of Lettenthal (58 inhabitants), Nieder-Kalmberg (40 inhabitants), Ober-Kalmberg (181 inhabitants) and Würzenberg (193 inhabitants).
