Kalmberg is a cadastral municipality of the market town of Bad Kreuzen with 486 inhabitants (as of May 15, 2001).
geography
Kalmberg has an area of 7.3694 square kilometers and includes the villages of Oberkalmberg and Würzenberg . The highest elevations are the Würzenberg at 447 m above sea level. A. and the Kalmberg at 412 m above sea level. A.
Kalmberg borders within the market town of Bad Kreuzen in the north, northwest and north-east on the cadastral community of Kreuzen and in the east on the cadastral community of Wetzelstein . Also in the east and southeast of the forms in part Kämp Bach the border with the cadastral Panholz the city of Grein . In the southwest, the village of Untergaisberg of the cadastral municipality of Innernstein of the market town of Münzbach near Kalmberg. In the south, the villages of Niederkalmberg border the cadastral community of Clam (municipality of Klam), the market community of Klam and, along the Rinnau stream, the village of Letten, the cadastral and market community of Saxen, border on Kalmberg. The Sulzbach, the Schallahoferbach and the Rinnaubach have their source in the area of Kalmberg.
history
The administrative unit created as a tax community in the Kreutzen district in the rulership of Kreuzen Castle belonged to the parish of Kreuzen as well as to the district commissariat and the Kreutzen school district (1825). Kreutzen was later merged with the Greinburg district commissioner.
Kalmberg was an independent local community from 1850 to 1875 . During this time the following people were mayors :
- Georg Angerer (1850 to 1861)
- Franz Huber (1861 to 1870)
- Josef Steinkellner (1870 to 1875)
The local community Kalmberg had 72 houses and 472 inhabitants in 1869, spread over the villages of Lettenthal (58 inhabitants), Nieder-Kalmberg (40 inhabitants), Ober-Kalmberg (181 inhabitants) and Würzenberg (193 inhabitants). On the occasion of the dissolution of the community in 1875, Lettenthal zu Grein, Nieder-Kalmberg zu Klam and Ober-Kalmberg and Würzenberg zu Kreuz.
