Due to historical demarcation, the part of Letten on Saxen is divided into a smaller northern and a much larger southern part. The two parts are connected by a narrow arched corridor. Two individual farmsteads are located in what is now the municipality of the market town of Klam and belong to the village of Unterhörnbach . The residents belong to the school district and the parish of Saxen .

The northern part is separated by the Rinnaubach from the village of Oberkalmberg in the cadastral municipality of Kalmberg in the municipality of Bad Kreuzen and borders in the east on the village of Lettenthal in the municipality of Grein , in the west on the village of Niederkalmberg and in the south on the village of Unterhörnbach , both in the Market town of Klam. The southern part borders in the north on the villages of Achatzberg and Unterhörnbach in the municipality of Klam, in the east on the village of Herdmann in the municipality of Grein and in the south on the village of Reitberg and in the west on Markt Saxen. The Saxner Bach, which rises in Unterhörnbach, flows through the southern part of the village towards Saxen.

From a geological and geomorphological point of view as well as aspects of the use of space, Letten is part of the Upper Austrian spatial units southern Mühlviertel peripheral locations and belongs to the Klamer basin .
