Kaltenborn is located in the south-east of Remscheid in the statistical district of Bergisch Born Ost of the Lennep district in the Dörpe valley on the city limits of Hückeswagen . Neighboring places are Goldenbergshammer , Karlsruhe , Langenbusch , Siepen , Forsten , Ober- and Niederlangenbach on Remscheider and Busenberg , Braßhagen and Ulemannssiepen on Hückeswagen city area.

The place can be reached via a spur road that branches off from the federal road 229 at Siepen .

history

The map Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715 shows the farm as Caldenborn . In the 18th century the place belonged to the Bergisches Amt Bornefeld-Hückeswagen . In 1815/16 four people lived in the village.

In 1832, Kaltenborn belonged to the Lüdorfer Honschaft , which was part of the Hückeswagen external citizenship within the Hückeswagen mayor . The place, categorized as a hamlet according to the statistics and topography of the administrative district of Düsseldorf , directly bordered the citizens of Lennep and at that time owned a residential house and four agricultural buildings. At that time, 9 residents lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.
