Kalvin Sagt (born January 20, 1987 in Abbotsford , British Columbia ) is a Canadian ice hockey player with Hungarian citizenship who has been under contract with HC Gherdëina in the Alps Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Kalvin SAGES began his career as a hockey player with the Kamloops Blazers , who selected him in the first round of the 2002 WHL Bantam Draft as the 15th player. In total, he played for almost six years in the Western Hockey League - after three years in Kamloops also for the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Prince George Cougars . In early 2008 he moved to the Victoria Salmon Kings in the East Coast Hockey League , where he ended the season. He then played for five years for the team at Lakehead University , where he was studying at the time, for the championship of Canadian Interuniversity Sports . After graduating, he played another year for various lower-class teams in the United States in 2013/14.

In 2014, Sager moved to Hungary. After initially two years in Miskolc for DVTK Jegesmedvék , with whom he won both the MOL league and the Hungarian championship in 2015 and 2016 , he was under contract with Alba Volán Székesfehérvár in the Austrian ice hockey league in 2016/17 . He then moved to HC Gherdëina in the Alps Hockey League .

International

In 2016, Sagt received Hungarian citizenship and made his debut at the World Cup that same year for the Hungarian national team in the top division, with the Hungarian team relegated to the second-rate division IA. A year later he played in the 2017 World Cup in Division IA .
