Kappelhof is indirectly mentioned for the first time in 1692 as a farm at “St. Leonhard bey Nenßling ”. In 1719 it appears as "Capelhof". He belonged to the end of the Holy Roman Empire the Schenk von Geyern .

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806), the village of Nennslingen with the wasteland of Kappelhof, the wasteland of Gutzenmühle , the wasteland of Kohlmühle (piston mill) , which burned down in 1843 and was not rebuilt, and the wastelands of Panzermühle , Schwabenmühle and Steinmühle in 1808 became the tax district Nennslingen which was assigned to the district court of Raitenbuch in 1809 , in 1812 as a community to the district court of Greding and in 1857 to the district court and rent office (later district office, finally - together with Gunzenhausen - district) Weißenburg .

Until at least 1885 Kappelhof was run as a district of the community of Nennslingen. From 1900 at the latest, Kappelhof is no longer run as a separate district.
