action

Julie Pierce, a young girl, has suffered from aggression since the death of her parents and is raised by her grandmother, with whom she does not get along well. Since Julie's (deceased) grandfather was a former war comrade of Miyagi, Miyagi offers his help to the overwhelmed grandmother. Even Miyagi-san cannot get close to the introverted girl, who also has her problems at school: The so-called alpha elite troop (consisting of older male students) under the direction of the brutal trainer Colonel Dugan is supposed to be there for Ensuring law and order is more feared there than a gang of thugs. The only exception is Eric McGowan, who only belongs to the troupe because of his professional prospects. Fiesling Ned, the best of the alpha elite troop, has already had an eye on Julie, just like Eric. In response to a rebuff, Ned blackened Julie to the director, which resulted in a warning. After a nightly scandal at school, Julie has to leave school for two weeks. Miyagi-san now decides to go with Julie to a distant monastery, where monks who are friends live and who above all have respect for all living beings as a philosophy of life. After initial difficulties, Julie begins to blossom: she finds her inner balance through meditation, and Karate training by Miyagi-san gives her new self-confidence.

After her return, the relationship with Eric improves; the two fall in love. However, this displeases Ned, who provokes Eric to a duel in the harbor. Eric accepts the challenge, but is suddenly attacked and beaten up by the entire Alpha Elite troop. Miyagi-san and Julie arrive just in time and rescue Eric. While Julie takes on Ned and wins, Miyagi-san defeats Colonel Dugan.

Reviews

“An inquisitive girl as a heroine may be something new, but that's the only new idea. The action is too tight and only «Pat» Morita convinces with his infinite patience. "

“A plainly staged, shallow continuation of the cinema series that mixes not too brutal fight scenes, a little joke and kitsch, pop music and semi-Buddhist wisdom. In its demonstrative rejection of violence not always credible, the film can at least serve as an uncomplicated didactic introduction to discussing aggression and violent fantasies with young people.
