Karl-Ludwig Wetzig

Karl-Ludwig Wetzig (also: Karl Wetzig , born October 6, 1956 in Düsseldorf ) is a German writer and translator .

Life

Karl-Ludwig Wetzig completed a degree in German , Scandinavian and history at the universities in Bonn and Uppsala , which he completed with a master's degree. He then worked at the Collaborative Research Center on Literary Translation at the University of Göttingen and lecturer at the Goethe Institute in Reykjavík . Wetzig lives today in The Hague . He works as a freelance writer and translator of fiction and non-fiction from Icelandic , Swedish , Norwegian , Danish and Old Norse into German . Karl-Ludwig Wetzig is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works and of the PEN Center Germany .

Award

Wetzig was awarded the 2017 translation grant from the State of Lower Saxony . With the grant of this State supports the work of Wetzig, the September amendment of Johan Bargum has from Finland Swedish translated into German.
