Karl Bernhard von Budberg (born May 31, 1810 in Graudenz , † April 29, 1867 in Breslau ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Karl Bernhard was a member of the Baltic noble family von Budberg . His parents were the major in the 4th East Prussian Infantry Regiment (No. 5) , Christoph Bernhard von Budberg (1755-1811) and Charlotte Luise Karoline, née von Lindheim (1782-1867).

His career began in 1822 as a cadet in Potsdam , where he moved to Berlin in the same position in 1825 , before becoming a non-commissioned officer in the 40th Infantry Regiment in 1826 . After he was Portepeefähnrich in 1828 , he was promoted to secondary lieutenant in 1829 and was assigned to the training infantry battalion in 1832 and to the Guards Artillery Brigade in 1838. In 1847 he was promoted to captain and company commander in the 36th Infantry Regiment and in 1854 became a major and commander of the 11th Battalion of the 23rd Landwehr Regiment. From 1857 he was in command of the fusilier battalion of the Kaiser Franz Grenadier Regiment and in 1859 received the Red Eagle Order IV class. In the same year he rose to lieutenant colonel , became commander of the mobile 1st Landwehr regiment and director of the combined division schools of the 1st Army Corps . In 1860 he successively became the leader of the 18th combined infantry regiment and commander of the 58th Infantry Regiment . The promotion to colonel in 1861 was followed in 1863 by the award of the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with a bow. Budberg finally received his departure in 1865 with the character of major general .
