Karl Moeser
Karl Moeser (born September 2, 1837 in Staab , Bohemia , † June 18, 1888 in Meran ) was an Austrian architect . Its buildings shape the face of the city of Merano to this day and are partly under monument or ensemble protection.
Life
After attending the Benedictine grammar school in Merano, Moeser first studied law in Vienna. Shortly afterwards he switched to the kuk Polytechnikum and studied architecture , at the same time at the Vienna Art Academy . During his time in Vienna he was also an apprentice at the Dombauhütte of St. Stephen's Cathedral . During his studies, he built the German House in Merano for his father .
Moeser planned around 100 buildings and major renovations in Merano.
The builders Cölestin Recla and Tobias Brenner initially worked on Moeser's order, later they planned their own buildings.
Karl Moeser's son of the same name was director of the state archives in Innsbruck.
