Karl Friedrich von Knobloch (born June 16, 1797 in Pessin ; † March 6, 1862 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Karl was the son of the Lord on Pessin Otto Friedrich von Knobloch (1742-1817) and his wife Karoline, born von der Hagen (1769-1837) from the House of Stölln.

Military career

Knobloch visited the school in Neuruppin and resigned after the War of the Fourth Coalition in 1809 as a hunter in the Guard Rifle Battalion of the Prussian army one. By mid-November 1812 he was promoted to secondary lieutenant , was wounded in the battle of Großgörschen during the wars of liberation and took part in the siege of Mainz . For his behavior during the Battle of Paris he was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class and the Order of St. Vladimir IV. Class.

After the war Knobloch rose to captain and company commander by the end of December 1817 . On April 17, 1831, he was promoted to major and on March 30, 1838, he was appointed commander of the Guard Jäger battalion. Initially, on August 12, 1841, Knobloch was temporarily assigned the duties of inspector of the hunters and riflemen. He was then promoted to lieutenant colonel on September 12, 1841 and, while remaining in his position as battalion commander, was entrusted with carrying out the inspection business on March 22, 1843. At the end of March 1844 Knobloch was promoted to colonel and two years later he was appointed inspector. From August 24, 1848, he was employed as commander of the 10th Infantry Brigade in Poznan . In this position on September 11, 1848 the Guard Jäger Battalion aggregated , he was transferred to Frankfurt (Oder) on July 21, 1849 as commander of the 5th Infantry Brigade , to the command of the 1st Guard on September 25, 1849 Landwehr Brigade in Berlin. There he was promoted to major general on April 4, 1850. During the Schleswig-Holstein uprising , from April 8, 1851, he was in command of Rendsburg for two months . He stepped on April 10, 1852 Pension in retirement, died in Berlin and was buried in Pessin on March 8 1,862th

Knobloch married Sophie von Bredow (1789–1827) on October 6, 1822 . The couple had several children:

  • Marie Josephine (* 1824) ⚭ 1850 Hugo von Bredow (1823–1860), gentleman in Laaslich. Her daughter Hermine Sophie Elisabeth (* 1855) married the later Prussian Lieutenant General August von Ziemietzky (1845–1917) in 1874
  • Sophie Karoline (1826–1897) ⚭ 1853 Adolf von Bredow (1827–1886), Lord of Ihlow, legal knight of the Order of St. John
